Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions are an agreement between you and Engineer In Despair LLC. By downloading, installing, or using Taza, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who Makes Taza
Taza is created and maintained by Abdullah Faqeh through Engineer In Despair LLC. The company owns and operates Taza, while the app remains a one-person project. Taza is a Spanish-learning app made by a learner, not a linguist or teacher, and is intended to support your Spanish learning, not to guarantee fluency.
License to Use
Engineer In Despair LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Taza on your own devices for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, or make the app or its content available to others outside of normal personal use.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract the app's vocabulary, audio, grammar content, or source code for use outside the app.
Content & Accuracy
Taza's vocabulary, grammar explanations, examples, and cultural notes are researched against established Spanish references and reviewed by Spanish speakers and tutors. Audio pronunciation is generated using Google Cloud Text-to-Speech and ElevenLabs voices.
Even so, Taza is built and maintained by one person, and Spanish usage varies by region and speaker. We do not guarantee that all content is free of errors, and we do not guarantee any particular learning outcome, including fluency. If you spot a mistake, please report it using Report an Issue in the More tab, and we will review and fix confirmed issues when we can.
Purchases
Taza offers a one-time in-app purchase ($19.99) that unlocks all lessons. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), so we never see or store your payment information.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their own refund policies; we are not able to issue refunds directly. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore your purchase from the paywall screen using the account you originally purchased with.
Intellectual Property
The Taza name, logo, app design, and all vocabulary, grammar content, audio, and other materials created for the app are owned by Engineer In Despair LLC. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of that content to you.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to bypass the purchase/unlock system, abuse promo codes, interfere with the app's servers, or use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
Termination
We may restrict or terminate access to the app for anyone who violates these terms, such as through abuse of promo codes or attempts to circumvent purchases.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Taza is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Engineer In Despair LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on its educational content.
Changes to These Terms
If we make material changes to these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
